| Looking for a change can be hard in difficult times |
|
| I recently moved back from Australia and I am looking for a marketing or public relations job in Hong Kong. My previous experience was in the telecoms sector and I would like to explore a different industry such as the fashion or beauty sector. I am in my mid-20s and speak fluent English. However, I lack local experience. I have been looking for a job for more than a month and have received no replies yet. Please tell me what I should include in my CV in order to impress the company and have a better chance. Or am 1 being too hopeful as the job market is a bit quiet at the moment? |

| Can you speak and write Chinese? Cantonese and/or Putonghua? That's important and you must state this clearly in your CV. What skills and experience did you gain in your previous job that you can use to sell yourself? Looking at it from a different perspective, what are the qualities and skills that you think are important to be able to land a job in the industries that you want to join? Don't exaggerate and never lie in your CV. I suggest that you write a good cover letter explaining your interests and introducing yourself, and explaining how you can contribute and why You are applying. Never send a standardised CV and cover letter as each job is different. | |
